Community Outreach

The NSAO has a community outreach committee which organizes our members’ participation in two annual events:

• Halifax Connect and
• Sydney Connect 

In 2017 two successful project connect clinic days were held.  The first one was held in September 2017 and approximately 60 - 80 patients were seen in two four hour volunteer clinics at FYI Doctors Spring Garden Road and Insight Optometry. Free eye exams and donated frames and lenses were provided to each participant.

The Sydney event was held in November this year at Island Eyecare.

The Committee will also try and conduct eye exams for those who are unable to visit a clinic or home/residence bound.
